A growing phenomenon among outdoor-nature enthusiasts is the assembly of golf trails, where golf courses with some common characteristic are presented as a package for golf-tourists to enjoy. Nationally, there are over 20 golf trails, and most are spread over a large geographic area in hard-to-reach destinations. On the banks of the Trinity River is a collection of 21 golf courses that compose the Trinity River Golf Trail. All the courses are open to the public year-round, ranging in length from 6135 yards to 7235 yards. They range from budget level, less than $20/round, to luxury, over $200/round and USGA slope/ratings of 69.0/110 to 75.5/141. All of these golf courses are within about 20 miles of the DFW International Airport.
