A river is a poem without words

Beginning below the Lake Lewisville dam on the north and at Lake Worth on the west, continuing through 9 cities, including Fort Worth and Dallas, this paddling trail ends in southern Dallas just above I-20.
There are 21 canoe/kayak launch sites with paddling experiences ranging from less than 2 miles to almost 24 miles. During normal water flows the water is deep enough to paddle the entire length of the trail, with a few ripples and rapids above category #1. Check the website TrinityCoalition.org to see the current water flow and a color-coding showing the safety level of the flow. On that website, there is a paper done by a Ph.D student at UT-Arlington on the water quality at various locations. You can also access videos there that will offer you a glimpse of this special river.
All of the Trinity River National Water Trail is within about 20 miles of the DFW International Airport.
